Chiloba finally Explains Why IEBC Uploaded Results written on a Paper instead of Form 34A on portal
Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission CEO Ezra Chiloba has finally broken his silence on why the commission uploaded Presidential results on their portal, written on what looked like an exercise book instead of a Form 34A for a polling station in Mandera County.
Speaking over the weekend at the Bomas of Kenya, the young CEO explained that they followed up on the matter and established the presiding officer responsible had written to the commission, explaining what happened.
“After the tallying, the presiding officer wrote the results on the exercise book and went ahead to test the system only to realize he couldn’t test. Once you lock in the results it cannot be reversed. He has however presented the original forms and we uploaded the correct forms,” Chiloba clarified.
Chiloba confirmed that the commission was ready to conduct a second election in case the Supreme court ruled in favour of the opposition.
The commission filed their response yesterday 24th August,at the Supreme Court minutes after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s legal team submitted theirs.
