Independent and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chair Wafula Chebukati declared on Friday night Uhuru Kenyatta as the fifth President of the republic of Kenya having trounced NASA leader Raila Odinga in this year’s presidential election.
Chebukati declared Uhuru Kenyatta the winner after having received all the results recorded on all form 34B’s from all the 290 constituencies.
According the IEBC chairman,Uhuru Kenyatta who vied on a Jubilee ticket garnered a total of 8,203,209 votes representing 54.27% against his NASA competitor Raila Odinga who scooped 6,769,224 votes a 44.74% representation of the total votes casted.
However,what seems to be an enduring mystery at this edgy moment is that,the total number of votes casted for both Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga are still increasing.
Currently(as at this writing),Uhuru has 8,218,043 votes while Raila has 6,817,245 votes from 40848 out of 40883 reported polling stations-which is past the total number of votes Chebukati announced for both Uhuru and Raila.
Through a Facebook page (which has since been pulled down and deleted) under the name of IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba,a post read;
“We have received several complaints from people who are interested to know why results are still streaming in on our online portal. I would like to urge all Kenyans to remain calm as out technical team are working round the clock to restore the system.
We however would wish to state clearly that the results announced by IEBC chairman Mr. Wafula Chebukati were final and represented the final constituency results as in Form 34B.”
