Paul Ongili, alias Babu Owino, was the talk of town after he invoked NASA leader Raila Odinga’s name together with his popular slogan ‘Tibim’ during the swearing-in of Members of Parliament on Thursday, August 31.
The source of Babu’s wealth has been an enduring mystery ever since he stepped into the political arena. His enigma and personality saw him chair the students’ union back in the University of Nairobi for quite a while.

“The late Libyan president, Muammar Gadaffi used to be my best friend and he used to finance me. When he passed on, I was left a financial orphan and had to look for newer sources of money. I decided to look for other international friends,” said Owino as quoted in Edaily on Wednesday.
He revealed that he has a network of well connected international friends who fund his life and aspirations but would never mention them for fear of them ending up like Gaddafi
