Former West Mugirango MP Henry Obwocha has died in Nairobi Hospital after battling illness for years.
Obwocha, who also doubled as Economic Planning Minister during retired President Mwai Kibaki’s regime lost his parliamentary seat in 2007 to Dr. James Gesami of ODM.
The former minister is credited for playing part in revamping Kenya’s economy during infantry years of Narc regime.
He was first elected to parliament in 1992 and served the vast constituency for 15 years.
A family member said he died on Saturday morning at the Nairobi Hospital.
Until his death, Obwocha served as Chairman Privatisation Commission.
In 2006, he briefly served as Acting Energy Minister after the exit of Ochillo Ayacko.
