Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Thursday offered a county job to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s lawyer ,Ahmednasir Abdullahi, despite him being one of his fiercest critics for a while now.
In a response tweet, the Nairobi County boss appreciated a compliment that had been issued by the lawyer and added that the self-proclaimed Grand -Mullah was the perfect fit for his administration.
The lawyer had complimented the embattled Governor for a job well done in clearing garbage and planting flower beds in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area.

In response, Sonko stated:
Asante Wakili @ahmednasirlaw. I appreciate your compliment. I welcome you to support my admin because we need people like you to fight the faceless cartels at City Hall. Welcome on board.

The conversation between the two attracted a number of comments from the governor’s followers who dubbed it the makings of a “major handshake”.
One Mohamed Wehliye observed:
“This must be a breaking news in CNN. Major handshake story”
Other followers of the governor were quick to point out some misgivings that could disqualify Ahmednasir from any post at the county administration.
What about @bonifacemwangi comment on Bicycle lanes or a pedestrian walkway? @ahmednasirlaw wouldn’t support that coz he shoves cyclists off roads with his big Prado what about you Governor? Cc @CriticalMassNbi @kenyancyclist @SallyCyclist_KE @EstherPassaris @uonbikeshare
