President Uhuru Kenyatta has mourned the untimely demise of a close family member of former Head of State Mwai Kibaki.
In a statement through his communication’s team,President Kenyatta sent a message of condolence to the family, relatives and friends of the late David Muriithi Wokabi- a nephew to Mwai Kibaki.
The late Muriithi is also a brother to Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi.
In his message, President Kenyatta eulogized David Wokabi as a true patriot and nationalist who believed in building strong bonds of friendship among Kenyans irrespective of race, ethnic and religious backgrounds.
The late Wokabi, who served as a patron of various public institutions in Roysambu Constituency, Nairobi.
“He knew and understood my vision and that of the Jubilee Party of uniting Kenyans to live together harmoniously. Indeed he was a bridge that linked Kenyans across the country,” said President Kenyatta.
Mr Kenyatta further noted that the late David Wokabi – who also served as the vice chairman of the Kikuyu Council of Elders – was a role model to many Kenyans whom he served diligently and impartially.
“His accomplishments are a clear demonstration – especially to the youth – that focus, diligence and determination pays. Those who knew him, benefited immensely from his selfless leadership and wisdom,” said President Kenyatta.
